The Black Hawk County Sheriff's deputies responded to a serious two vehicle accident that sent one of the drivers to Iowa City Hospitals via AirCare.

On Thursday, April 14, shortly before 7:30 PM Black Hawk County Sheriff's deputies and First Responders of the Denver Fire and Ambulance Services were dispatched to the intersection of Dunkerton and Wagner Roads where two vehicles had collided.

An investigation at the site of the crash indicated that a Chevrolet Cruze driven by Lindsey Wagner, 24, of Denver, IA, had been northbound on Wagner Road. A westbound Chevrolet 2500 Silverado pickup driven by Rickey Cook, 39, of Waukon, IA failed to stop/yield at the intersection with Wagner and collided with the Cruze. Both vehicles came to rest in the north ditch of Dunkerton road; the pickup on its top.

Ms. Wagner was unresponsive at the scene and transported by Denver Ambulance to a local hospital, and then transported by AirCare to the University of Iowa Hospitals. Mr. Cook and his passenger were treated at the scene for minor injuries by Denver Fire personnel and Waterloo Fire personnel.

Mr. Cook was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign.
