The residence was being advertised on posters around the area. There was a sign displayed on the front door saying it would open at 7:00 p.m. Halloween night.

Turns out, the owner of the house is a registered sex offender. Scott Neff was sentenced to seven years in prison in 1996...for multiple counts of sexual contact with a minor.

Naturally, you could understand why parents would bristle at the idea of their children going through his house. But technically, there are no state laws preventing Neff's activities, since he's in compliance with the sex offender registry and not on probation or parole.

Still, Neff and his roommate decided to nix the plan, saying they didn't want any issues with neighbors. [KOB-TV]

Video shows the employee leaning up against the counter and relieving himself. He then puts his gloves back on and continues working. As a result, the plant discarded more than 50,000 pounds of product.

Smithfield issued a statement saying that the facility stopped production, cleaned the processing lines and sanitized all equipment before resuming operations.

You can see video of it here.

A spokesperson for Smithfield says the employee has been suspended and the incident is being reviewed. [WAVY-TV]

Authorities say 28-year-old Justin Foster flew from Atlanta to Chicago, then drove to Des Plaines to confront his ex-girlfriend's new man.

Foster allegedly struck the man in the head with a tire iron, carved initials into his leg and then cut off his penis. Foster also threw the victim's mutilated member over a fence, dragged the victim behind a parked car and left him bleeding in the street.

The man survived but suffered life-threatening injuries, including permanent brain damage. Foster has been charged with attempted murder. [Chicago Tribune]
