Another Arrest in Federal Heroin Investigation
A federal search warrant executed at an Ossian residence over a year ago, has now culminated in the arrest of another Northeast Iowa resident.
25-year-old Chase Heying of Ossian was taken into custody last Thursday (Oct. 18) by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office. Heying was charged with 2 counts of felony Conspiracy to Deliver Heroin, and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
On June 6th, 2017, authorities carried out several federal search warrants in Ossian, from a lengthy, multi-agency investigation. Local, state, and federal agencies, with the assistance of the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office were involved.
A month later, Kaleb Breitsprecher and Cole Breitsprecher were indicted by a federal grand jury. Kaleb was indicted for multiple counts of distribution of heroin and fentanyl, and possession of firearms by a drug user. Cole was indicted on similar charges.
Following the arrest of Chase Heying last week, authorities indicate that another arrest is still pending in this case.
