Authorities Release Name of Fatality Victim

We now know the name of the victim of a deadly accident Tuesday evening (April 26) on the west side of Cedar Rapids, near Cherry Hill Park.

24 year old Zacariah Thomsen of Cedar Rapids, was the driver of a car that went through an intersection, striking another vehicle. Thomsen's car continued into a ditch, became airborne when it hit a driveway, then crashed into a tree.

Thomsen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, 25 year old Brianna Collum of Cedar Rapids, was not hurt.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.
