Bond has been set at $1 million for a Denver, Iowa man, in connection with a fatal shooting in Waterloo.

37 year old Steve Fordyce is accused of killing 43 year old Donald Harrington of Waterloo, during a dispute last Friday night on Locust Street.

According to authorities, Fordyce was visiting his sister, who apparently had an ongoing feud with Harrington, her neighbor. Fordyce, who was armed with a handgun, accompanied his sister when she went to talk with her neighbors. The situation escalated, and Fordyce pulled out his gun and began to fire.

Harrington, who was not armed, was fatally wounded. Fordyce was arrested without further incident.

He now faces a first degree murder charge, and is being held in the Black Hawk County jail on $1 million bond.
