Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Butler County Wednesday night (March 30, 2016).

According to the Iowa State Patrol, both drivers -- Elizabeth Henninger, 25, of Plainfield and Tasha Swanton, 33, of Clarksville -- were hurt in the crash, along with a passenger in Swanton's vehicle -- Pamela Swanton, 51, also of Clarksville. The three women were all taken to a hospital in nearby Waverly to be treated for their injuries.

The crash occurred just after 11 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Iowa Highway 3 and Butler County Road T-63 (N. Public Road) in Shell Rock. State troopers who investigated the crash said Henninger failed to obey a stop sign and pulled into the path of Swanton's car, which was eastbound on Highway 3.

Butler County sheriff's deputies, Shell Rock police, and Shell Rock fire officials assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
