Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a garage and travel trailer at a Cedar Falls campground on Sunday (December 28, 2014).

According to Cedar Falls fire officials, a park ranger living in a house at Big Woods Lake Campground discovered the blaze around 7:30 p.m. and called firefighters to the scene.

The fire destroyed the garage and a 24-foot camper parked nearby. The house also sustained some heat damage, but no injured were reported.

Fire officials said the house and detached garage are owned by the city of Cedar Falls, but both are maintained by the Black Hawk County Conservation Commission. The 24-foot camper was owned by the park ranger.
