Investigators determined the suspect ran from the bank into the nearby Thunder Ridge Court, where he changed his clothing. Afterward, police said, he entered a pharmacy and apartment building before walking away from the area.

Ellingson was detained by officers minutes later approximately a half-mile from the robbery scene. Investigators later charged him in connection with the hold-up. Ellingson also was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for court on an unrelated public intoxication charge.

According to police, investigators recovered the cash that was taken during the robbery. Ellingson is being held at the Black Hawk County Jail.
