A Cedar Falls man is in the Black Hawk County jail on multiple burglary and theft charges following a series of residential break-ins over the past two months.

Police say Kody Cooper, 22, broke into seven Cedar Falls homes in December 2014 and January 2015. Cooper is charged with two counts of 2nd-degree burglary and five counts of third-degree burglary in connection with the break-ins. He's also charged with one count of 4th-degree theft for allegedly pawning the stolen property.

Cooper is accused of forcing his way into seven homes and burglarizing each of them. Police say he stole electronics, money, firearms jewelry and other items. Some of the stolen property and weapons has been recovered by investigators.

The break-ins were reported at homes in the 1000 block of Higby Drive, 1100 and 1900 blocks of Clay Street, 1900 block of Franklin Street, 1600 block of Birch Street, 700 block of Bluff Street, and 3500 block of Panther Lane.

Black Hawk County sheriff's officials also filed a burglary charge against Cooper, Cedar Falls police said. He's being held in the Black Hawk County jail on a $100,000 bond.

Authorities continue to investigate the burglary spree and expect to make more arrests.
