Cedar Falls Police arrested a Cedar Falls man for Burglary and Criminal Mischief today (Thursday, October 27th).

According to the Cedar Falls Police, On Friday, October 7, Cedar Falls police responded to three burglaries in the College Hill area. The three businesses that were broken into were the Social House, 2208 College Street, Little Bigs, 2210 College Street, and Sud’s Bar, 2223 ½ College Street.

While in the the Social House the suspect caused several thousand dollars worth of damage to the business, including carpet, bar stools, computer monitors, and other electronics items.

Little Bigs, which was under construction at the time of the burglary. The suspect entered the business through the front doors, causing damage. Tubes of concrete filler were taken during the break in. The concrete filler was then used to damage sidewalks in the 2200 block of College Street.

The suspect broke into Suds and did damage to bar stools, chairs, bar equipment, and broke bottles of alcohol.

During the investigations a suspect was developed by viewing surveillance video. Arrested today, October 27, 2016, was Brendon Earl Shaw, age 19, and resides at 2204 Franklin Street, Cedar Falls, IA. He was charged with:

  • Three counts of third degree burglary, class D felonies
  • One count of first degree criminal mischief, a class C felony
  • Two counts of criminal mischief in the second degree, class D felonies
  • One count of criminal mischief in the third degree

Shaw was transported to the Black Hawk County Jail where he was booked in on the charges.
