Two people have been charged in connection with the drug-related death of a former Northeast Iowa woman.

22 year old Felicia Halstead of Dixon, Illinois, formerly of Tripoli, died November 11th from a heroin overdose.

2 other Dixon women, 32 year old Heather Wilcox, and 35 year old Rebecca Dixon, have been charged with drug-induced homicide. The two are also charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

Dixon is currently in custody, and Wilcox was given notice to make a court appearance on March 2nd.

Halstead died after taking heroin for the first time. The other two women are accused of giving Halstead the heroin. Halstead was found unresponsive in a Dixon, Illinois residence; she was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Prosecutors note that, through the Good Samaritan Law, the two women would not have been charged with homicide, had they called for help when they witnessed the signs of an overdose.

Wilcox and Dixon now face up to 30 years in prison, if convicted.
