The Floyd County Sheriff continues to investigate an accident involving a school bus.

It happened just before 8am Friday, Feb. 5th, at the intersection of 240th Street and Highway 14, northeast of Marble Rock.

72 year old Carol Wreghitt of Marble Rock was driving a Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock school bus, west on 240th street. She pulled out from a stop sign to cross Highway 14, when the bus was struck on the right rear side by a vehicle driven by 42 year old Craig Whalen of Lyle, Minnesota, who was driving south on the highway.

One of the children on the bus was later taken by a parent to Mercy Hospital in Mason City to be examined for a possible concussion. No one else was injured.

Whalen's vehicle was totaled, and the bus sustained over $3,000 damage.

The accident remains under investigation.
