A Clermont teenager is in the hospital with serious injuries, after being struck by a car Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at about 7:30am Wednesday; the Fayette County Sheriff received a 911 call that a vehicle had hit a bicyclist at the intersection of Iowa and Spring Streets in Clermont.

15 year old Elizabeth Marie Goddard was riding her bike, when she was struck by a vehicle driven by 74 year old Julienne Wander, also of Clermont.

Goddard was initially taken to the West Union hospital, then later airlifted to Gunderson Hospital in LaCrosse, with serious, life-threatening injuries. There is no word on her condition today.

The accident remains under investigation; the Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the Clermont Fire and Ambulance services.
