Comedian Julie Klausner Body-Shames Zendaya Following KCAs Win

Comedian Julie Klausner accused Disney star Zendaya of being a bad role model for young women, simply because she's thin.

Klausner retweeted an article by The Hollywood Reporter that quoted Zendaya’s Kids Choice Awards acceptance speech, where she thanked parents for “allowing me to be a role model for your children.” But Klausner tacked on her own commentary, writing, “And thinspo model for your impressionable tweens."

She continued criticizing Zendaya’s frame, accusing her of "starving herself” in a tweet that references Giuliana Rancic's famous comments about Zendaya's hair at the 2015 Oscars, and went so far as to imply that the Disney star has an eating disorder.

"I will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards for a generation of girls who grow up thinking they're fat," Klausner wrote. "And you know those public fat shamers who fake "concern" for Melissa McCarthy's health? Consider me your fire with fire.

"I'm concerned with the generation of girls who aspire to look like Zendaya," she continued. "I do not worry about Zendaya's health or care whether she eats."

Zendaya responded to Klausner, referencing her own response to Rancic's comments.

But rather than further engage Klausner (who continued to make disparaging remarks about the actress) on Twitter, Zendaya shifted the focus to her followers instead, encouraging others to “go look in the mirror at their beautiful body and love that sh—t."

Klausner then responded to Zendaya fans, who she referred to as the Zenhive for some reason, on Twitter -- where she commented on Zendaya's body yet again.

Klausner eventually ended her diatribe without offering an apology to Zendaya, writing instead, "For those who have spoken to me respectfully about post-racialist bias I won't apologize, non-apologize, delete tweets, backpedal or refuse to own my shit. BUT- I will be more thoughtful going forward."
