When I was looking into colleges, one of the schools at the top of my list was the University of Iowa. I had friends who went there and loved it, and the campus visit lived up to the hype.

Now, it's been made official: Iowa City is the best college town. This comes from a new report from the U.S. Census Bureau. The list is based on things like cost of living, city access, nightlife, and more.

It definitely makes sense. Everyone I know who went to Iowa is constantly heading back to Iowa City to hang out and visit their friends. It seems like the school takes pride in keeping a good relationship with its alumni.

Even people who didn't go to the school tend to head that way when they want a fun staycation weekend. Of course, that's in large part because of the tailgates. When you're part of the Big 10, you're going to have some blowout tailgate parties.

Congrats Hawkeyes, and congrats Iowa City!
