A construction project on Iowa Highway 14 in Butler County is scheduled to begin on Monday (July 18, 2016).

According to Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) officials, work to replace a roadway pipe culvert over the Beaver Creek overflow channel north of Parkersburg will require the closure of Highway 14 for about four weeks. A detour will be in place through mid-August, weather permitting.

Motorists will be directed around the work zone by using Butler County roads C-55 and T-47.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
