With allegations and rumors still flying in the wake of the incident on the set of Bachelor in Paradise, one of the two parties involved has issued a public statement. Here is what Corrine Olympios has to say about the alleged sexual encounter she had with another contestant, DeMario Jackson, which was apparently captured on cameras and was alarming enough to eventually shut down production of the show and launch an investigation into the production’s “misconduct” (via TMZ):

"I am a victim and have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened on June 4. Although I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place, which I understand is why production on the show has now been suspended and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production ... As a woman, this is my worst nightmare and it has now become my reality. As I pursue the details and facts surrounding that night and the immediate days after, I have retained a group of professionals to ensure that what happened on June 4 comes to light and I can continue my life, including hiring an attorney to obtain justice and seeking therapy to begin dealing with the physical and emotional trauma stemming from that evening.

TMZ also notes that Olympios has retained noted L.A. lawyer Marty Singer (who’s so noted he has his own tag page on TMZ) to represent her, which “make it feel like a lawsuit is brewing.”

With each passing day, I become more convinced that not only is this summer’s season of Bachelor in Paradise not going to happen, but there may never be another season of Bachelor in Paradise period. I think the ultimate fate of the overall Bachelor franchise, as well as this case, is going to come down to the footage from the set. Whatever happened was apparently captured on camera and in full view of many witnesses. That makes the allegations particularly disturbing, but it should also help resolve the production company’s investigation, and whatever else happens after that in or out of any courts.
