An intruder almost dies after a break-in, a shoplifter gets tackled by an animal, and a man doesn't seem to mind going to jail...
Omaha, NE- A potential robber was done in by old Halloween decorations.
27-year-old Anthony Mitchell broke into a house last week. The homeowner arrived and noticed things out of place, then spotted the intruder in his daughter's room. When Mitchell tried to flee out the front door, he slipped on a rotten pumpkin that was still on the porch.
Mitchell hit his head on the ground and was admitted to the hospital with a fractured skull and a brain bleed! Once he recovers, he'll be arrested for burglary. [NBC Omaha]
Wait 'til another burglar shows up in April and gets knocked out by a Christmas wreath...
London, England- A shoplifter was arrested in unusual fashion this weekend.
Off-duty police officer Ben Perkins saw the suspect fleeing a store and began pursuing him. A few of Perkins' friends also began chasing after the shoplifter and were able to pin him down.
What made this arrest unusual? Perkins and his pals were attending a bar crawl...dressed as giraffes! The police station even tweeted a photo of the heroes. [Metro]
They really stuck their necks out to save the day...
Alexandria, LA- An attempted burglar got stuck in a chimney, and that's the NORMAL part of the story.
Building employees called police after hearing a man yelling from inside. The suspect was able to escape the chimney before police arrived, but threw a brick at an employee before running.
Police eventually found 41-year-old Matthew Mobley and charged him with Attempted Simple Burglary and Aggravated Assault. Get this...that was Mosley's 77TH ARREST in that parish. [KALB-TV]
How does that happen? 77 times?!?! What kind of law enforcement procedures do they have in Louisiana? If I got arrested once my life would pretty much be over...
