Four errors from Duluth and a six-run fifth inning paced the Waterloo Bucks to a 9-7 win over the Huskies in northeast Minnesota Thursday night (July 7, 2016).

The win extended the Bucks’ winning streak to four games as they completed the two-game sweep of Duluth. The series started the second-half race in Northwoods League's North Division.

Waterloo (2-0, 24-13) scored for the second straight night in the first to take a 1-0 lead. Taylor Boyd drew a four-pitch walk to begin the game, and later moved to third when on a single by Tyler Curtis. Boyd then scored on Adam McGinnis' sacrifice fly to left field.

Duluth (0-2, 18-20) took a 2-1 lead by scoring a pair of runs in the the bottom of the frame, before the Bucks evened the score in the third. Boyd led off the inning with an infield single and Lane Milligan reached base on a Duluth fielding error. Boyd then scored on Curtis' second hit of the night.

Waterloo plated another run on a double steal in the fourth inning. Daniel Perry drew a walk and stole second, before moving to third on a wild pitch. Boyd then drew a five-pitch walk and stole second. Perry beat the return throw home when Duluth catcher Chase Barbary attempted to gun down Boyd at second.

The Bucks plated six runs in the fifth to extend their lead to 9-2. Curtis reached on a Duluth fielding error to begin the inning before McGinnis brought him in with an RBI double to left-center. Brody Weiss, Matt Morrow and Alex Boxwell each drew one-out walks to load the bases. Boyd made it 8-2 with a bases-clearing double before Milligan increased the Bucks’ lead to seven with an RBI single down the left field line.

The Huskies trimmed Waterloo's advantage to 9-5 with a pair of runs in the eighth inning. Duluth also added three runs in the ninth, but the comeback fell short.

Jared Crescentini (4-1) recorded his second win of the year against Duluth. The right-hander went five innings, allowing two runs on six hits while recording three strike outs and four walks.

UP NEXT: The Bucks continue their five-game road trip on Friday (July 8), when they travel to Canada for the start a two-game set against the Thunder Bay Border Cats at Port Arthur Stadium.
