Dirt track racing young gun Tyler Droste talked to us about his win in Iowa's Virtual Dirt Track Classic. Droste was the 2016 Bill Colwell Ford Late Model winner as determined by race fans.

Early in his racing career Droste's name started become a fan favorite while driving his #92 open-wheel modified. All though his family-based race team still pulls out the modified a few times a year, these days, the young driver spends more time behind the wheel of a late model.

Droste stepping into a dirt late model thanks to an opportunity provided by Doug Cue and Gene Budzine in 2014. One year later the #31 late model team scored the 2015 IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series Rookie of the Year honors. They also claimed the late model track championship at the Independence Motor Speedway.

In 2016, the focus will remain on the late model. The modified will still be maintained by the Droste family, and once again they'll race it a handful of times.
