The Minnesota Vikings have signed former UNI Panthers wide receiver Terrell Sinkfield to a reserve/future contract.

The Minnetonka, Minn., native most recently played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Toronto Argonauts and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Sinkfield caught 10 passes for 120 yards and had 613 return yards and a touchdown in 7 games for Hamilton in 2014, averaging over 100 all-purpose yards per game in helping the TiCats to the Grey Cup game (CFL's championship) where they fell to the Calgary Stampeders.

In 2015, Sinkfield recorded 69 receptions for 1,030 yards with Hamilton.

Prior to his time in the CFL, the University of Northern Iowa product spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers as an NFL rookie free agent, before joining the Buffalo Bills for their 2013 training camp. He spent the remainder of the 2013 preseason with the New York Giants.

Sinkfield was a three-year starter for UNI, playing in 39 games and accumulating 1,097 receiving yards while scoring 10 touchdowns. He averaged 14.4 yards per reception on 76 total catches during his career as a Panther.

Sinkfield wasn't invited to the NFL combine in Indianapolis after wrapping up his college career with just 499 yards receiving and four TDs as a senior. But he went to the University of Minnesota's pro day and turned heads on March 4, 2013, when he ran the 40-yard dash in a manually-clocked, unofficial time of 4.19 seconds. Had that time been recorded at the NFL combine and declared official, it would have been the best in the event's history.
