The UNI Panthers will find out their NCAA Tournament opponent and destination this weekend.

The University of Northern Iowa is hosting an NCAA Selection Show viewing party for the men's basketball team that is free and open to the public. The event will be held at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC) on Sunday (March 13, 2016).

The Panthers earned an automatic berth into the 68-team NCAA field by winning the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in St. Louis last weekend. UNI beat Evansville, 56-54, on a shot by Wes Washpun at the buzzer (Watch Video Below).

UNI (22-12) enters the NCAA Tournament having has won 12 of its last 13 games. It's the eighth time in program history that the Panthers have qualified for college basketball's championship event.

If the UNI women's basketball team is competing in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship game on Sunday, the doors to GBPAC will open at 1:45 p.m. The MVC women’s championship game tips-off at 2 p.m. and will be shown live on ESPN3.

If the UNI women are not playing in the MVC title game, the doors to GBPAC will open at 4 p.m.

The 2016 NCAA men’s basketball tournament selection special will air on CBS from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
