Iowa fans, your counterparts in Ames hate you. And they will cripple anyone to prove it!

They played in basketball last night at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames.

Iowa State went in at 7-0 on the season, ranked 4th in the country. Kind of like Iowa's football team but whatevs.

Iowa was a respectable 7-2 going into the game, but unranked.

The Cyclones won by one point, and boy did they act like they won the galactic championship of college basketball or something. They stormed the court -- an act almost exclusively reserved for when a home team underdog beats an undefeated and top-ranked team, not the other way around.

Watch the silliness, and notice something in the bottom right corner as the court fills up:

Man down! A reporter for the Des Moines Register was caught up in the stampede of college students and suffered a compound fracture of his leg (that's the ugly painful kind).

Randy Peterson is his name, and he is saying he was not trampled by the crowd, he locked legs with one person, or something.

By the way, if Iowa State University's statement about the incident were any colder your mom would tell you not to put your tongue on it.

"In fairness, we do not know exactly what happened." Cold.
