Fayette County authorities are charging a Minnesota driver, who apparently fell asleep at the wheel, and drove through a corn field.
At about 2am Tuesday (Aug. 16), the Fayette County Sheriff got a 911 call, concerning a vehicle being driven in a corn field, off Filmore Road, 2 miles east of West Union.

Investigating deputies determined that the driver, 22 year old Daniel Lopez of Rochester, Minnesota, was westbound on the county road, when he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, and drove off the road into the field.

No one was injured, and there was minimal damage to the 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport.

Lopez is being charged with Failure to Maintain Control.
