Cue the conspiracy theories. GQ recently put together a list of artists they believe will stand the test of time and will prove to not be mere flashes in the pan in this modern age of disposable pop music. Diplo happens to be one of their artists of choice. It seems like a pretty standard story so far. The most interesting part? It has everything to do with something he said about Taylor Swift -- that was later reportedly deleted by the magazine.

According to Billboard, Diplo said the following, "Taylor Swift is very strategic with her friends and enemies. And I know lots of secrets. I can't divulge, but I know a lot of stuff about her. And I'm scared. I'm scared for my life." But that quote was quickly deleted from the article, which, admittedly, is pretty weird.

Diplo's blurb now says, "So many great albums came out that week, and all people talked about, on all the big press, was Me vs. Lorde, and Kim Kardashian's butt. No one covered any music. And it’s funny, because me and Lorde, we're actually friends," which references the time Lorde defended Taylor against a few comments Diplo made about the 'Blank Space' singer on Twitter.

Apparently, a rep for GQ says the quote comes from a larger piece about Diplo that provides more context and will be up on the site later, so we'll have to see whether the quote will be included when it's up.

What do you guys think? Is it totally suspect that the quote about Taylor was deleted?
