While some dogs are exercising their 2nd-Amendment rights, a new study of over a million children shows that kids who grow up with dogs have a reduced risk of developing asthma.

While it has previously been established that kids who grow up on farms have half the risk of developing asthma as those who don’t, Swedish researchers wanted to see if this effect applied to household pets.

It did, albeit to a lesser extent, with dog-owning tots developing asthma at a rate that was 15 percent less than kids in canine-free households.
