An eastern Iowa man has now been charged with 2 counts of Vehicular Homicide, following a recent traffic accident that killed two occupants of another vehicle.

At about 5pm Friday (Feb. 10), 35-year-old Keith Furne of Cedar Rapids was arrested by the Linn County Sheriff's office, on two counts of Homicide by Vehicle, and one count of Reckless Driving Resulting in Serious Injury.

The charges follow a three-month investigation into a Nov. 3rd, 2016 accident on County Home Road and North Troy Road, north of Robins. Furne was the driver of a pickup that rear-ended a car that had stopped to make a left turn.

The car had five occupants; two were pronounced dead at the scene. The other three were treated at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Furne was held in the Linn County Jail until his arraignment; bond was set at $100,000 cash only.
