Julia Michaels had a massive hit in 2017 with her debut single, 'Issues.' But did you know her journey to stardom began right here in Iowa?

Julia was born in Davenport in 1993 before moving to California as a young girl. She has quickly made her name known in the music industry as a songwriter, penning hits such as "Hands to Myself" for Selena Gomez and "Sorry" for Justin Bieber.

"Issues" was among five nominees for Best Song, and the 24-year-old is also nominated for Best New Artist along with SZA, Lil Uzi Vert, Alessia Cara & Khalid.

Michaels also earned American Music Award (New Artist of the Year), MTV VMA (Best New Artist), MTV Europe Music Award (Best New, Best Push) and Billboard Music Award (Top Covered Artist) nominations this past year.

James Corden will host the 60th annual GRAMMY Awards, airing on CBS January 28th, 2018. Get the complete list of nominees here.
