Erratic Driver Arrested for Violations and Stealing Park Sign

The Fayette County Sheriff's office has arrested a Solon man, after authorities received a report of an erratic driver.

The incident happened at about 4:00pm Thursday (May 24); the sheriff got several driving complaints near the Maynard turnoff on Highway 150. The driver was passing at a high rate of speed, and swerving all over the road. The vehicle was located and stopped on Highway 3; the driver, 44-year-old Vanai Vang, was arrested for OWI 1st Offense, and also 5th degree Theft, after a sign from a local state park was found in his vehicle.

A resident of the Prairie View Residential Facility near Fayette, faces charges after a suspicious item was found by the facility staff. After completion of the investigation, which began on May 22nd, 29-year-old Matthew Bohl of Mason City was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
