Fairbank Man Dies in Accident Near School

An accident just inside the Bremer County line near Fairbank, has taken the life of a Fairbank man.

It happened at about 8am Saturday at the intersection of County Road C-50 and Yukon Avenue, northwest of Fairbank, near the Wapsi Valley School.

A vehicle driven by 22 year old Jedidiah Wilson collided with a pickup driven by 59 year old Kenneth Franck, also of Fairbank. According to the Iowa State Patrol, Wilson failed to stop at the stop sign.

Franck's pickup rolled onto it's top in a ditch.

Wilson was aircared to Covenant Hospital, but died from his injuries.

Franck and his passenger, 58 year old Dixie Franck, were taken to Allen Hospital for treatment. Authorities say the Franck's were buckled-in, but Wilson was not.
