Sheriff Deputies responded to a fatal motor vehicle accident this morning in Black Hawk County.

Just after 11:00 A.M today (Monday, April 4th) Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident south of the intersection of Hwy 63 and 175, on Highway 63.

On arrival Deputies observed two vehicles that appeared to have collided head on. Moments before the report of the accident, Deputies were notified of a Grayish mini-van weaving in an out of traffic and using excessive speed. That vehicle was heading northbound on Hwy 63.

This vehicle collided with a semi-tractor trailor operated by Thomas Bronson, 57, of Coral, Michigan, who was traveling southbound. The tractor is owned by Paccar Financial Corp, Denton, Texas.

The driver of the van was deceased upon arrival at Covenant Medical Center. The driver's name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin. The accident remains under investigation.

Black Hawk County Sheriffs Office was assisted at the scene by Hudson PD, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DOT Enforcement, Hudson Fire and Ambulance, Rasmussen Towing and Ray Mounts Towing.
