Fayette County authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted on charges connected to an incident in the city of Maynard early Friday morning (April 7, 2017).

Just before 5 a.m., sheriff's deputies were called to a Maynard home on the report of an assault. Upon arrival, they discovered that a robbery had taken place.

Sheriff's officials said they learned that Scott Peska, 42, of Marengo, entered a home without permission, struggled with a female and stole her cell phone. The woman suffered a hand injury during the altercation, but did not require medical attention.

According to authorities, Peska left the home after the incident and was unable to be located.

Fayette County sheriff's officials have issued a warrant for Peska's arrest. He's wanted on charges of second-degree robbery, criminal trespassing and driving while barred.
