The Class 1A and 2A Regional Team Dual Tournaments were contested Tuesday night, and five Cedar Valley and North East Iowa teams punched their ticket to the 2015 Iowa High School Team Dual State Championship Tournament on February 18 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

In Class 1A wrestling action, the No. 7 Don Bosco Dons (thepredicament.com) hosted their Regional Team Dual tournament. In their Semifinal round, Don Bosco defeated North Butler, Greene 51-27. Then they sealed the trip to Des Moines be putting down Lake Mills, 49-19.

The Dike-New Hartford Wolverines had to travel to Eddyville, and ended up facing the host school after beating English Valleys, North English, 63-15. The regional championship went down to the very last match, but DNH would pull off the one-point victory, 39-38. As a result of the win, the Wolverines will be making their first appearance at state.

The No. 1 ranked Union Community Knights (thepredicament.com) hosted their Class 2A regional tournament. They made quick work of their semifinal opponent beating ADM, Adel, 63-15. In the championship round, it was another strong performance for the Knights winning 57-16 over Webster City.

No. 7 Independence (thepredicament.com) also played hosted for their regional Team Dual tournament. The Mustangs eliminated the Vikings of Vinton-Shellsburg 62-9 in their semifinal dual. In the championship match, it was a much closer battle, but Indee would defeat Mount Vernon, 36-21.

The New Hampton Chickasaws made the trip to Osage pay off. For their semifinal match-up, they had to face Iowa Falls-Alden. The Chickasaws took the win, 51-24. Standing in their way of a trip to Des Moines were the Charles City Comets. New Hampton took the victory, 48-32.

All five teams will now wait until Wednesday, February 18 for the 2015 Iowa High School Team Dual State Wrestling Tournament.
