This includes the counties of Fayette, Clayton, Chickasaw, Howard, Allamakee, Mitchell, Winneshiek, and Floyd.
It also continues for the nearby Southwest Wisconsin counties of Crawford, Vernon and Richland.
Authorities caution motorists to use extreme care when traveling through the region, expect some detours and closed roads, and never drive into high water.

Some parks in Oelwein are also flooded, including Red Gate Park, where Otter Creek has topped it's banks; and City Park, where water is pouring over the dam with great force.
