Former Waterloo Black Hawks skater Justin Kloos scored the game winning goal for the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the 2015 Big Ten Championship game.


Minnesota claimed its first Big Ten playoff title with a 4-2 victory against Michigan on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Joe Louis Arena.

Justin Kloos scored the game-winning goal for Minnesota, 9:29 into the third period. The goal was the Golden Gophers third power-play goal of the night and Kloos’s seventh power-play goal of the season.

With the goal, Kloos now has four game-winning goals this season. The last time Kloos scored a game-winner was on Feb. 20, 2015 in a 2-1 win at Penn State.

Kloose now has three goals and six points in the last five games.

In three seasons with the Waterloo Black Hawks, Kloos scored 34 goals and 62 assists in 66 total games. He added four more assists during seven playoff games with the Black Hawks.

With the B1G championship win, Minnesota earned an automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA tournament and will be making their 36th appearance in school history.
