A fundraiser will be held this weekend for a Northeast Iowa community, devastated this summer by a tornado.

The McGregor Disaster Fundraiser dinner and silent auction will take place this Sunday (Sept. 10) from 4-6pm at the Monona Community Center. The event is being organized by the MFL MarMac Interchurch Council.

A free-will offering will be taken, with all proceeds going to the "Restore McGregor 2017 Tornado Fund".

Carryouts and delivery of the food will be available in Monona.

McGregor was struck on July 19th by an EF-1 tornado with wind speeds up to 110 mph, that destroyed or damaged numerous businesses and homes, mostly in the downtown area. One person died during the cleanup that followed, otherwise there were no injuries.
