Nine teams from Northeast Iowa are ranked in the latest high school football poll, released by the Associated Press on Monday (October 20, 2014).

Six of the nine teams are ranked in the same position as last week. Don Bosco, Janesville and Central Community remain among the top five eight-player squads, while the Class-A poll features fourth-ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck and No. 6 AGWSR. South Winneshiek is still ranked second Class-1A.

The Northeast Iowa team that took the biggest fall in this week's poll was West Delaware in Class-3A. The Hawks fell from second to sixth following Friday night's 10-0 loss to unranked Independence. The setback was the first of the season for West Delaware.

Nashua-Plainfield also fell in this week's poll, although the drop was a slight one. The Huskies fell to No. 7 in Class-A. They were tied for sixth with AGWSR last week.

Across the state, teams are preparing to play their final regular-season games of 2014. Most of the rated teams -- if not all -- will advance to the playoffs, which begin October 29th. The six-class, 192-team playoff field will be announced following the completion of Friday night's games.
