Jeb Bush Identified Himself As “Hispanic” On Voter-Registration App

Is Jeb Bush poised to become America’s first Hispanic president? Perhaps, if his 2009 voter registration application is to be believed. This may be a hot-button topic here in Iowa for the primaries.

On it, Bush identified himself as “Hispanic“ instead of checking the box for “White, not Hispanic.“ In fairness to Bush, he is married to a Mexican-born woman and speaks fluent Spanish.

When asked about the confusing application, a Bush spokesperson could offer no explanation to The New York Times. However, Jeb took to Twitter himself to write, “My mistake! Don’t think I’ve fooled anyone.“

Meanwhile, Florida’s Democratic Party claims the former governor may have committed a felony by providing false information on his application.
