An Oelwein business is now slated to close following the death of one of its owners.

Dean's Destination Powersports will be closing its doors on Friday, November 9th following the death of Dean Schlitter earlier this year.

The business, located at the intersection of South Frederick Avenue and Highway 281, sells motorcycles, off-road vehicles, parts, and accessories.

In appreciation for its customers, Destination Powersports is selling its merchandise, in-stock parts, and accessories, at 10% over cost. The sale will be in effect until closing day, Friday, Nov. 9th. The business itself, will also be up for sale.

Dean passed away on August 6th. He was very involved in his community, being a member of local service organizations for many years, as well as his church. Dean is also known to many in the area, as a former radio announcer for KOEL-AM in Oelwein.

Destination Powersports opened 14 years ago, a business that Dean, and his wife Sue, cared for very much. Sue and their daughter Laura, expressed appreciation for all of their customers and friends.
