Local Man Arrested on Teen Sexual Battery Charge

An Oelwein man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant from Virginia, concerning sexual battery against a young teenager.

At about 8:45pm Thursday (Aug. 30) Oelwein Police took 65-year-old Jeffrey Spragg into custody in the 800 block of South Frederick. He was wanted on a Virginia warrant for the original charge of Felony Aggravated Sexual Battery on a Victim less than 13 years old.

Oelwein Police are investigating a theft report. The theft was called in to police shortly after 4pm Thursday, from the 300 block of 4th Avenue SE. No other information was released.
