Man Arrested for Assaulting Co. Deputy

A West Union man faces several charges after allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer.

The Fayette County sheriff received a 911 hangup call, just after 10pm Wednesday; it was traced to home in the 9000 block of Golden Road, a mile east of West Union.

Responding officers were confronted by 53 year old Terry Mork, who was apparently in a dispute with another person.

Mork had reportedly trespassed on the property, and was causing a disturbance with the owner and children.

When the deputy tried to arrest Mork, he resisted, and had to be taken down by deputies. During the struggle, Mork assaulted the officer, who had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Mork was charged with criminal trespassing, interference with official acts, and assault on a peace officer.

Mork was taken to the Fayette County jail in West Union, where he was held until posting $8,500 bond.
