An area man could face multiple years in prison, for dropping nails on a Northeast Iowa road, causing thousands of dollars in damages to vehicles.


40-year-old Duane Taylor of Arlington was taken into custody on Saturday (Oct. 14), on a Fayette County warrant on a charge of Criminal Mischief-2nd Degree.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff, Taylor allegedly placed hundreds of nails on "M" Avenue, between 160th and 170th Streets northwest of the city of Fayette, causing approximately $1,500 in damages to vehicles that frequently travel that route.

If Taylor is convicted, he could face up to 5 years in prison.
