A two-vehicle accident in Marshall County sent four people to the hospital over the weekend, including a three-year-old toddler.

The crash happened at a rural intersection southeast of Albion around 6 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 2, 2017). The Iowa State said a sport utility vehicle headed westbound on 170th St. failed to stop a signed intersection and collided with a car that was going northbound on Oaks Ave. After impact, the SUV entered a ditch and rolled before coming to a stop.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Codey Briley, 27, of State Center was driving the SUV, and Nicholas Weatherby, 36, of Albion, was operating the car. Troopers said the crash injured both drivers and their passengers.

Briley and Adrianna Surber, 3, were both air-lifted to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Weatherby and Heather Frazier, 27, of Albion, were flown to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. The status of their conditions was not released.
