A Northeast Iowa motorist is being charged with causing an accident, after she tried to answer her cell phone while driving.
The accident happened just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 30), a mile west of Sumner on Highway 93.
22-year-old Kendell Brown of Sumner was traveling west, when she attempted to answer an incoming phone call. Her car crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a car driven by 24-year-old Amanda Ward, also of Sumner.
Ward was the only one injured; she was taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner with unspecified injuries.

The Iowa State Patrol investigated; they were assisted by the Bremer County Sheriff, Sumner Emergency Medical Services, and Sumner Fire Department.
