Four Northeast Iowa men have been arrested by the Floyd County sheriff, for their involvement in an assault that took place earlier this month, just outside Charles City.

At about 1:45am Sunday, Oct. 12th, the Floyd County Sheriff was called to the emergency room of the Floyd County Medical center, on the report that a man had been physically attacked by five or six people earlier that night, north of 13th Avenue on Triumph Avenue, just northeast of Charles City.

During the interview, it was learned that another man at the site may have also been attacked by 5 or 6 adult males.

Officers discovered that there were numerous witnesses present when the assaults took place, which led to an extensive investigation with numerous interviews.

As a result, four men were arrested on warrants for 2 counts each of willful injury causing serious injury with a bond of $20,000 each: 25 year old Jeffrey Stoddard of Charles City, 21 year old Tyler Tonelli of Charles City, 25 year old Brett Carlson of New Hampton, and 26 year old Cody Cordes of New Hampton.

Another suspect, 19 year old Dakota Gillespie of Charles City, is wanted for two counts of willful injury causing serious injury, for his involvement.

Also, through the investigation, the Floyd County Sheriff and Department of Criminal Investigation, filed charges on 24 year old Steven Zastrow of Charles CIty, for failure to register on the sex offender registry.
