An Northeast Iowa man is in the hospital after being stabbed during a road rage incident.

On Monday, May 8th around 4:00 P.M., Black Hawk County Deputies responded to a call on Highway 63 and Dunkerton Road for a stabbing. According the Sheriff's Office, once deputies arrived they learned that the incident was the result of road rage, with the driver of a semi and the driver of a passenger car stopping their vehicles to confront one another.

During the altercation, Peter Klassen, 37, of Ionia was stabbed twice by the driver of the passenger car. Klassen was transported to a Waterloo hospital where he is recovering from non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies are working with Minnesota authorities to determine who was driving the passenger vehicle.

This is an ongoing investigation.
