NE Iowan Pulled from Burning Wreck

A Friday morning accident in Fayette County has put a Strawberry Point man in the hospital.
It happened at about 9:30am on Highway 187, north of Lamont, near the border with Buchanan County.

An SUV driven by 45 year old Brian Deaton, was northbound, when he lost control.

The vehicle entered the ditch; Deaton was trapped in the vehicle, but rescued by witnesses, as the vehicle caught fire.

Deaton was taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City; a condition report was not available.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Buchanan County Sheriff and Fire Rescue units from Strawberry Point and Lamont.
