Early Saturday morning (October 1st) the Cedar Falls Police Department and emergency services responded to a call that a pedestrian was hit by a car.

Just before 2:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 1st, the Cedar Falls Police Department, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue and Sartori Paramedics were disapatched to the area of Hwy 57 and Roosevelt St on a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a car. Officers determined that Tristin Selby (24 years of age) had been walking in the travelled portion of eastbound Hwy 57 and was struck by a car driven by 23 year old Michael Kelly.

Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Micheal Kelly for 1st Offense Operating While Intoxicated. He was transported to the Black Hawk County Jail.

Tristin Selby suffered serious injuries and was transported to Unity Point - Allen Hospital in Waterloo before being transferred to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for treatment of his injuries. Selby is currently listed in critical, but stable condition.
