Brittany Horton was sentenced to five days in jail after authorities say she did nothing to stop her child from skipping classes.

Horton pleaded guilty to a truancy charge earlier this year. The prosecutor's office deferred her punishment in order to give her a chance to correct the problem. Instead, her student continued missing class.

In total, her 6-year-old has 26 unexcused absences, and administrators say Horton failed to show up for meetings to discuss the truancy. [FOX 17]

Looks like the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree...

28-year-old Ramsey Bearse allegedly used Snapchat to send a male student photos of her nude breasts. The boy’s mother contacted cops and reported that her son had "inappropriate photos" on his phone that were sent to him by Bearse.

She admitted to sending the student four topless pictures over the course of several months.

Bearse--a former Miss America semifinalist--has been suspended from her teaching job. She was charged with distribution of obscene matter to a minor, and could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and a $25,000 fine. [The Smoking Gun]

20-year-old Florida Atlantic University student Rafael Decomas allegedly tweeted last week that he was going to "f---ing kill dis professor."

Police received a tip about the tweet and were able to cross-reference information in the user's Twitter profile with a database of FAU students.

Decomas said he had "tweeted the post out of frustration" that his data structure professor decided to schedule a 7:00 a.m. final exam (Real talk, I'd be mad about that, too). He told police he was aggravated because he lives in Riviera Beach, about an hour's drive away from campus (Again, I'm with you, dude).

Decomas has been charged with intimidation with a written threat to kill or injure. The University's police department is still investigating. [BuzzFeed News]

I kinda get where this dude's coming from? A 7:00 a.m. final? That's ruthless.
