The remains of a Northeast Iowa woman who went missing over 3 months ago, have apparently been found by a local farmer.
According to the Bremer County Sheriff's Office, human remains have been located near a residence at 1447 120th Street, north of Horton.

The body was found at around 1:30pm Wednesday, by a local farmer who was out harvesting a corn field.

An investigation of the scene where the remains were found, strongly suggests it is the body of 76 year old Cloris Mehmen of rural Plainfield, who was reported missing on July 5th.

The remains were located about a half-mile from Mehmen's home, where she was last seen.

An autopsy has been ordered to make a positive identification, and determine the cause of death.

Foul play is not suspected. The Bremer County Sheriff notes that Mehmen's family has been notified.
